Big 4 Colonial Holiday Park - Harrington

13th Apr 2022

Who: Chris, Sarah & Maddie

Van: 2016 Jayco Outback Swan

Where: Big 4 Colonial Holiday Park – Harrington

Accommodation costs/tips: We booked directly with the park via phone and I spoke with bonnie who couldn’t have been more helpful if she tried! Bonnie squeezed (I use that word loosely – read on to see why) us in at the last minute onto the perfect spot. We arrived on the same day we booked for a short stay.

Accommodation options: Cabins & sites; each site is powered and has access to fresh water & grey water disposal- the site we stayed on was massive! We comfortably fitted our Jayco Outback Swan, a small boat with a rooftop tent above it plus all our awnings, chairs, BBQ and car. Most sites around this park are pleasantly larger than your average bear. I loved the feel of the park, so spacious & quiet- well mostly quiet, if you took our camp site racket from the equation! ?

6 people permitted per site.

Facilities:

2 camp kitchens – one of those is an epic indoor camp area right near the games room with a small quiet area/ library located adjacent to it. The other is an outdoor type camp kitchen, but don’t let that fool you – the pizza that pizza oven produced was next level!!

Right outside the outdoor camp kitchen was totem tennis that kept us all busy while we were waiting for our pizza and to be honest, it all but turned into a grand slam between the adults.

Amenities block- this amenities block is something else, all operated by your swipe card with ensuite style individual cubicles. This is perfect for families with small children.

This park also features a Pool, BBQ area, fire pit, games room & even communal dog areas with shelter to leave your animal secured while you cook.

Free wi-fi also available to park guests with details given upon check in.

This is our second stay at this park, our first being at least 10 years ago. If you’re the same, or you have never been before, make sure you check this park out!

The upgrades to the park make it an absolute pleasure to stay in & the quiet relaxed atmosphere is second to none (apart from the occasional grand slam happening near the camp kitchen of course!).

Things to explore near the park:

We took a trip to Port Macquarie for Hogs Breath Cafe – it’s one of our faves & who can say no to a Hogs rocky road sundae!!

If you take a day trip to Port, stop into Ricardoes Tomatoes & Strawberries, you won’t regret it!
