BIG4 Great Lakes - Jayco Newcastle Customer Weekend Away

1st Jul 2022

We were lucky enough to head away for a long weekend with the Jayco Newcastle family to Big4 Great Lakes at Forster/Tuncurry. This is our second time to this park which is situated along the lake front of Tuncurry and just a short drive over the bridge into the main street of Forster. The park has artificial grass sites – if you know, you know! No dirt or grass being walked through the van. Happy mumma!

We arrived at 6pm on Thursday night and were delighted to be greeted by the onsite tracker, aka the Marriage Saver, who parks the caravans for you! If you have ever arrived at a caravan park in the dark, you know the how stressful that can be!

on Friday, Although being winter and covered up in their steamers, it didn’t stop the kids from spending hours on the amazing water slide and kids pool area. It’s a great set up with plenty of chairs for parents to relax in the sun on.

Once defrosted from swimming in winter, we headed to the lake front with our group to set the kids up fishing, where they caught more of each others lines than they did fish. The lakefront is definitely a highlight for this park. The big grass area with picnic tables allow you to set up for hours. We spent a lot of time here. Once the parents had enough of untangling fishing line, the kids played in the trees that sat on the waters edge, followed by a mud fight and hot chips from the onsite café. Oh to be kids again.

On Friday night, we were treated to Woodfire pizza, Chip on a stick and Thai food trucks, all organised by Jayco Newcastle on the Lakefront. The staff from Jayco were there socialising with the customers.  Everyone settled in for the afternoon to watch the beautiful sunset over the lake. Breathtaking.

With a rainy start on Saturday, it was a slow morning for everyone. Coffee from the on site café and breaky with our friends, while the kids enjoyed the jumping pillow and huge playground. As the weather cleared, our friends pulled together a gourmet seafood lunch, all prepped and cooked in the camp kitchen.

That afternoon, the kids (and big kids) were treated to fairy floss, balloons, live music, BBQ, lawn games and challenges. I had the chance to join in to one of the challenges and verse Mitch (Jayco Newcastle Assistant Sales Mnaager), in flip cup. Which I can proudly say, l did win. It was such a fun afternoon, all organised and run by Jayco Newcastle.

It was a great weekend, we are very thankful for Jayco Newcatle for treating their customers to a weekend away. Until next time.

Our Picks:

John – Camp kitchen and the lake front

Shelbee – Artificial grass sites

Korbin – Being able to fish at the caravan park

Lakey – The fairyfloss and playground
