BIG4 Ingenia Holidays Lake Macquarie is located approximately 1 hour from Newcastle. We went for a last minute trip with our carafamily.
If you are looking for a park to go to with the extended family…look no further! This great family friendly park is secluded and practically made for quality time. It also backs right onto the lake with a jetty that’s great for fishing or mooring your boat.
We ventured up on Thursday afternoon to stay for the weekend with 9 other families and booked out most of the caravan sites.
TOP TIP: Try and book a lakefront site if you can!
La Niña decided to not show up for this trip which was nice, so we finally got to enjoy the nice warm weather around the pool. Followed by a game of cricket on the grasses area before the lake. Perfect spot for happy hour.
Our friends had a boat so lots of fishing competitions took place. As well as biscuit races: seeing who could hold on the longest.
The modern camp kitchen became a central meeting ground for all families were we enjoyed buffet dinners to share each night.
There is a friendly grocer, bakery and service station all within walking distance from the park.

Mums top tip – book a park close enough, and on a day you have to work. So the husband takes the kids and the van and sets it all up before you get there.
