The Remote Redbankway Hipcamp is a 1500 acre cattle property approx 15 min drive from Wauchope, and has plenty of options for camping on this farm stay. There are five major camping locations with many other camping locations that you may like to choose for yourself. You may choose to camp near the cattle yards close to the creek, near the horses, or high up on the hill to catch the views of the property. We chose to remote camp at the back of the property but to access the rear of the property you will need a 4wd & an off-road van.
Once you arrive at the front gate, the rear camp is then another short trip on a dirt road. At the front of the property, you will find the amenities, a rustic but very functional experience, consisting of a warm shower (make sure you remember to start the generator first or it will be a cold one!).
Our host Paul greeted us near the amenities and explained where we could explore, where to find things, and most importantly what time wood pizzas were on Saturday night. Once we had a short chat, we headed off through some creek crossings and minor off-road tracks to find a spot. We chose a spot down by the flowing creek that was great for kids & adults alike to scale the rocks, explore the waterfall or simply relax by the water in your camp chair.
The property is pet friendly (dogs are welcome but it is recommended you speak to Paul & Kristen first) and a great place to BYO horse. Even the cows were friendly!
Kristen & Paul held a wood-fired pizza night in their rustic oasis near the top gate for a small donation to a good cause. Some of our group even got to help out in the outdoor kitchen rolling dough & making pizzas.
One of our favourite things was taking in the sunset in beautiful surroundings with our friends. Highly recommended.

COST: $45 per night free camping. 15 people per campsite
AMENITIES: Toilets and showers, portable water, picnic tables, bins and outdoor kitchen.
NB: Keep in mind there is no wifi which is a great opportunity to turn off the electronics during your stay and enjoy the outdoors.
