Jayco Newcastle recently hosted its 34th Weekend Away, and this one was truly special. Nestled in the heart of Heatherbrae, NSW, Jayco Newcastle is a renowned caravan and RV dealership that goes the extra mile for its customers, offering unique weekends away that combine community, exploration, and relaxation.

The latest adventure took us to the breathtaking Reflections Jimmy’s Beach Holiday Park, a hidden gem located just an hour’s drive from Newcastle – so handy when we had to duck back for kids sport on Saturday!!

The park’s transformation since our last visit in 2020 was nothing short of remarkable, with dedicated efforts evident in every corner. They have put a lot of effort into this park and it is beautiful. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Jimmy’s Beach, this haven boasts stunning white sands, serene blue waters, and natural beauty that rejuvenates the soul.

We spent our Friday walking around the park and catching up with all our friends we have met at the customer appreciation weekends. We love these weekends as sometimes they are the only occasions where our paths cross!

As the sun dipped below the horizon and dinnertime beckoned, we ventured to Hawks Nest’s Benchmark Bar and Grill. It was pretty quiet for a Friday night so we settled in with the best wood fire pizzas in town. A few games of pool and a live band set the mood. A playful rendition of “Baby Shark” even had the kids dancing! It was a fantastic evening.

Saturday dawned with welcomed sunshine and the on-site coffee van provided the perfect morning pick-me-up! We have hit the winter sport season, and being within 1hr of home we were able to duck home to play football and back by lunch time. After a fresh lunch from the local supermarket, the kids braved the cold pool, very briefly.

We took the kids over to the beach to burn off their boundless energy. Someone had built a wooden teepee, which was soon deconstructed and reconstructed by the kids. After another brief  ocean swim and a cartwheeling competition, we headed back to the van to get ready for the Jayco Newcastle BBQ evening.

Saturday afternoon kicked off on a vibrant note, with a lively gathering of over 70 vans and more than 200 enthusiastic participants, including customers, staff, and their families.

At the camp kitchen, we were greeted by the fire cranking, all the guests, lawn games and the local lions club who were cooking dinner. We finished the evening roasting marshmallows over the fire. It was so nice seeing all the Jayco Newcastle customer and caravans all set up. So many RV options to accommodate everyone’s needs.

The evening was accompanied by the melodic tunes of the talented musician, Pete G, who has become a cherished member of the Jayco Newcastle family, gracing their events with his music for the past eight years.

On Sunday, we were lucky enough to get a late checkout whilst the kids played on the go karts. We enjoyed a hot breaky and coffee in the sun and then eased our way home to celebrate Mother’s Day.
